Shayamu Sachyaar

Published on October 24th, 2007

During the time of Guru Har Rai Sahib jee, there was one Bhai Shyamu jee.

He always used to hear the lines from Japji Sahib “kiv Sachyaara hoyi ye kiv kuude tuttea paal” and used to ask everyone what does it mean by Kiv Sachyaara hoi ye. After he couldn’t get any answers from anyone, he decided to go ask Guru Sahib himself.

He came over to Guru Harrai Jee’s deewan and started attending it.

When the deewan ended, he thought about asking the question, but he couldn’t get any courage to ask. He thought he would ask the question to Guru Sahib the next day. Next day comes; he attends the deewan from morning till night and again went home with out asking the question thinking he would ask the question next day. He passed a whole week like this and finally his last day, he went over to Guru Sahib but instead of asking the question, he went to say to Guru Sahib that he was leaving for his village. Guru Sahib asked him, “Why aren’t you asking me the question”. He fell on Guru Sahib’s feet and said Guru jee you are Antarjami, I don’t have the life of Sachyaara but everything is possible if you bless anyone. Guru jee asked him to stand up and say Waheguru. Guru Harrai Sahib blessed him with Guru Mantra and Bhai Shyamu was blessed. He lived a life like a Sachyaara till he died. Looking at his jeewan, people used to call him Shyamu Sachyaar.

May Waheguru ji bless every one of us and make us His Sikh.

Dhan Guru Dhan Guru Pyare

  • Shamu Sachiaar ji had blessed a couple who’s son was about to die at the age of 9. He told them to take him to Guru Gobind Singh Jee as he was the only one who could do something.
The couple went to Anandpur Sahib and did nishkaam seva of the Horses. Guruji became very pleased and asked them who had sent them here, when they said Bhai Shamu Sachiaar jee, he was very pleased and took out his arrow and added a zero against the 9 yrs of the child and said, this child will live till 90 yrs and also tell Shamu Sachiaar jee that he should keep on sending all Hundi’s (debt notes) and he will fulfuill them all, as he is a true beloved of Waheguruji.

When the couple went back to Shamu Sachiaar jee, he asked the couple to leave the kid with him as he was a gift and also told the couple that they will have more children next year, that is the time when they could leave the child with him.

The next year the couple had more children and came back and left the child with Shamu Sachiaar Jee.

From the lineage of this gifted child, arose Sant Sangat Singh jee of Kamalia, who was a Guru Piaara of the highest order, he was gifted with excellent Katha Vichaar skills and he transformed the lives of thousands of people and brought them to Guru Marag.

He later on came in Saadh Sangat with Bhai Sahib Bhai Veer Singh jee and their love for each other is unmentionable.

Sant Sangat Singh jee after partition settled down in Patiala, His son Sant Kartar Singh jee inherited the same Katha and gurmat qualities from him and continued this seva after his death.

Till now in model town Patiala, the saadh sangat continues the tradition of seva in a gurdwara built where Sant jee was cremated.

Each year to commerate his remembrance 14 akhand paath’s are held together from the 21-24 October and Saadh Sangat takes full laha of this.

  • So our Guru is very great, as he blessed many sikhs with divine powers. ‘Jin manas te devetea kiye karat naan laagi war.’ Everybody not get the opportunity to get the birth in a sikh family. Our last birth’s good deeds, sewa, simran and karamas are responsible to get the birth in a sikh family as gurbani says ‘Bhaag hoaa Gur Sant milaaya, Prabh Abinaasi ghar mean paaya’. The biggest sant is Guru Nanak ji. who is the roop of Akaalpurakh (God Almighty) has found in our house (our sikh family). How bhaag (good fortune) has formed ? It is formed as gurbani says that ‘ Nanak simran poorea bhaag.’ So the simran is very much responsible to get birth in a sikh family and get many things with blessings.

Gurbani says ‘Eatea chanan hondiyan Gur bin Ghor Andhaar’. If we get everything in life but no relation with true Guru, it is all useless and we can never get the peaceful, joyful and blissful life. Not the present life but our future life will also spoiled. Some people says who has seen the life after death, ‘khao, piyo aur eaish karo’. ‘Khao, piyo aur jarur eaish karo but always thanks to God Almighty who has given many things to us. These words of thanks will send us to the world of love, joy and eternal peace. ‘Yea thanks kis vakt karna, kaise karna aur kis ka karna hai, yeh sabh sachcha guru hee kisi ko sikha sakta hai. ‘As gurbani says ‘Satgur sikh kea bandhan kaate, satgur sikh kaa halat-palat sawarea, Gur kaa sikh wadbhaagee hea’. It is very difficult to get the complete Guru (poora Guru) these days other than Sri Guru Nanak ji. As no guru is pooran (complete) in these days as Guru Nanak . ‘Poorea Gur ka suun updesh, paarbrambh nikat kar pekh.’ It is very much proud to be a sikh of Guru Nanak.

Misfortune are those who are going back with sikh rituals (leaving Guru behind and doing many mischiefs) and becoming ‘patit’ and still saying that they have great love for our great Guru. (The identity of sikh is mentioned in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib as ‘Sabat surat dastar sira’ - page no. 1084, line no. 9.) But think over to gurbani as ‘Sant kaa dokhi dhrig jon kirmayea.’ Those who are doing mischiefs, they have no rescue after their accounts of good deeds and simran (which they have done in their previous births) will finish one day. It is sure that they will not get birth in a sikh family again. They are welcome in ‘dhrig yonies’ for many many long years, but not after their death still in their lives they will never get peaceful life as mentioned in the sacred ‘Sukhmani Sahib’, in the pauris of ‘Sant kaa dokhi’. So, again a good opportunity has come for those who are doing mischief against sikh rituals and wants to repent themselves on the 300th anniversary of Gurgaddi Divas of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and Khalsa (Guru Granth and Guru Panth).

  • This is the 3rd chance to repent before the true Guru for the ‘patits’, as it is the great chance for seeking bakhshash and blessings of our divine Guru. In this present period countless sikhs will get blessings and forgivness if they repent themselves. One can not be happy and joyful if he give ‘kasht’ and ‘dukh’ to his great Guru, who has given and still giving many things to his sons. The first great chance to seek bakhshash and blessings from our great Guru was the 300th anniversary of the birth of Khalsa. The second great chance was 300th anniversary of the Martyrdom of ‘Sahibzadas’. But our Guru is ‘SADD BAKHSHIND’. On these great occassions he gives his special blessings to everyone who loves Him. You can see in the history, many times, many kings gave forgiveness to their prisoners on the great occassions.
